2018 – An epic year for M Secure Events

2018 was an epic year for M Secure’s Event’s Security  – we were incredibly busy and also very successful.

Our Event Security secured more than 95 events in and around Cape Town, East London and Port Elizabeth. With that number of events, we deployed nearly 7000 event security officers. We are incredibly proud of the team – who had zero major incidents at any of the 95 events which they covered – ensuring the safety of all event spectators.

We had some really big wins in 2018. Towards the end of the year, we managed large events which drew crowds of between 15 000 and 45 000.

The Uitenhage Carnival saw an attendance of about 15000 people – a major event for a relatively small geographical area. Our Cleaning business unit also provided their services for this event – making sure streets were cleaned through the night and ready for the next day of revellers to return for more fun.

The enthralling SA vs Australia Rugby Test Match NMB Stadium attracted roughly 42 000 fans and our team were complete professionals. We also secured the Telkom Cup and Ebubuleni Music Festival -which attracted around 40000 and 20000 respectively – and yet more great efforts from the M Secure Events team.  On one day alone over 650 security officers were required. M Secure only employs PSIRA events graded security officers and we were inspected by PSIRA on many occasions over the past season without any objections.

Our Cape Town team managed several summer concerts at the Kirstenbosch Gardens with artists ranging from Majozi, Mango Groove, Mi Casa and Lira, to Black Motion and Jeremy Loops.

Our team were always professional and delivered 1st class service even on days when they were required to manage more than 3 events on a single day – sometimes in multiple cities. We are always striving to improve and find new ways in which to mitigate risks at events.

Thank you for your loyal support. A massive thanks also goes to our event officers for all of their hard work over the past year. We’re hoping for a bumper year for our events team in 2019 and will continue to strive to be best in class. We aim to provide safe and secure environments for all event participants.
